Sr. Director, Sales Operations & Solutions

About the role:

The Sr. Director Sales Operations & Solutions is responsible for building, improving, and overseeing a portfolio of processes, tools, and services that contribute to Takeda’s performance, competitiveness, and operational excellence. This role will design, build, and manage a number of business-critical cross-functional capabilities for the business units including: Sales Planning (Incentives & Compensation, Sales Force Alignment, Call Planning), Sales Force Automation (CRM, Technology, Field Reporting Platform), and Sales Administration (Fleet Management, Sample Operations, Field Sales Support).

How you will contribute:

  • Develop a framework for strategic/tactical business planning for Sales Operations for U.S. field-based teams that balances the efficient delivery against current business priorities while evaluating future growth opportunities.

  • Lead an effective and unified sales operations team that delivers the day to day operations and planning efforts related to the field sales force, managed markets, and other business partners, while also keeping an eye on the future evolution of the services.

  • Collaborate with Commercial leadership to develop relevant insights to support business decisions related to Field Force Structure and plan design.

  • Implement and manages an incentive compensation program, ensuring communication of policy to the field and management oversight of the program. Selects and manages vendor partnership.

  • Analyze key market data to understand how to best optimize the deployment and alignment of the sales force and managed markets teams.

  • Lead a team responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective analytical capability with a focus on US Commercial and CRM analytics and automation technology.

  • Deliver key performance reports within the CRM system for the sales/marketing organization including sales analysis tools, reporting, field technology, and CRM reporting tools.

  • Leads an effective Sales Administration Operation including Fleet Management, Sample Operations, and Field Sales Support.

  • Partner effectively with US Commercial Data Strategy to ensure quality pull through and presentation of data into our systems.

  • Lead effective cross functional teams ensuring that Business Strategies are enabled through effective implementation of changes in all Field systems. Initiatives will include Launch, Field Restructures, and special initiatives.

  • Manage a multi-million-dollar budget with accountability to P&L stakeholders. Deliver operations in a cost-effective manner

  • Oversee management of key external vendor relationships. Build two-way Vendor partnerships that result in increasing operational efficiencies and better services.

  • Embed an agile mindset and spirit of innovation in the team and the way they work.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree

  • Minimum of 12+ years of management level experience in the pharmaceutical, immunology, biologic/biotech, or medical device industries

  • Minimum of 8+ years of people leadership experience

  • Senior management experience in district management, specialty account management, marketing management, and/or product management experience or related field experience

  • Proven ability to lead a medium to large organization and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders

  • Proven track record of leading and driving business process transformation and organizational culture change as well as delivering on programs with complex business deliverables

  • Must have experience overseeing large pharmaceutical commercial projects such as field force restructuring, data integrations, CRM technology implementation, operational process integrations, etc.

  • Healthcare business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry

Preferred:

  • MS/MBA preferred
